We began the 2021 on a high working with cardboard manufacturer West Coast Corrugated Ltd on one of the biggest commercial solar panel installations we’ve done.

In just three weeks our team installed 1,166 Canadian Solar panels on cardboard manufacturer West Coast Corrugated’s site in Knowsley, Liverpool. The system provides 290,000kWh of electricity each year, saving 130 tonnes of CO2 every 12 months. Solar panels have a long life and, over 30 years, these panels will save West Coast Corrugated over £1,750,000.

Daniel Graham, West Coast Corrugated’s Managing Director, was searching for a cost-effective, environmentally friendly way to save on their electricity costs when he came across renewable energy. With their product being 100% recyclable, they wanted to continue their contribution towards helping the planet and use efficient sources to save costs and help protect the environment.

Before Daniel decided to work with Geo Green Power, he researched a variety of companies and alternative energy-saving solutions such as rainwater harvest systems and biomass boilers. However, as with many projects, budget was a major factor and the biggest priority was finding the right products and services to achieve West Coast Corrugated’s energy-saving goals. This is where our very own Sales Director James Cunningham stepped in.

James and Daniel clicked from the very beginning of the project with James giving Daniel confidence in the quality of Geo Green Power’s products and services. Daniel’s goal is to reduce West Coast Corrugated’s energy bill by 25% – 35% and James helped him understand that Solar PV would allow him to achieve this.

Daniel was delighted with how the installation was delivered, saying: “Everything is in working order and it was done in a timely fashion.” He was also impressed with the work ethic of the installation team adding: “With the installation being done in January I was surprised at how hard the guys worked fitting these solar panels in all weather. They just cracked on!”

West Coast Corrugated are currently saving 25% on their electricity, and Daniel feels confident they will be able to achieve their energy costs saving goals.

We caught up with Daniel Graham, a year after we installed West Coast Corrugated’s solar PV system to find out how it was performing. Check out our One Year On – Cardboard manufacturer West Coast Corrugated Discuss Their 350kW Solar PV System blog to see what he had to say.
