The Cotswold Company, an oak furniture and homeware business, keeps sustainability values at its core. All their timber is responsibly sourced, and every piece of furniture is crafted using traditional woodworking methods.
Having planted over 85,000 trees and removed 97% of polystyrene from their product packaging, the company are continuing to work towards their 2025 goals. These include reducing scope 3 emissions, becoming BCorp certified and delivering sustainability training to all staff.
Head of Sustainability, Jacquie Silvester, stated that: “Our desire for solar was fuelled by the move to our new site at Lichfield, which was the first time we’d had a new warehouse building. Solar was the obvious next step for our business, aligning with our goal to reach Net Zero on our Scope 2 emissions by 2025. The warehouse produces a large amount of our Scope 2 emissions, so it made sense to look at this for the first site to install solar.”
