CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme)

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)

Working with industry, MCS defines, maintains and improves quality by certifying low-carbon energy technologies and contractors – including heat pumps, solar, biomass, wind and battery storage.

MCS is a standards organisation who create and maintain standards that allows for the certification of products, installers and their installations. Associated with these standards is the certification scheme, run on behalf of MCS by Certification Bodies who hold UKAS accreditation to ISO 17065.

NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors)

The NICEC are the UK’s largest voluntary register of electrical businesses. They assess over 37,000 businesses to ensure that the installation work they undertake meets the standards expected to keep us all safe. They also assess and provide certification for renewable installers, plumbers and gas and heating engineers.

(Renewable Energy Consumer Code)

Through its Consumer Code RECC works to ensure the highest standards of protection for consumers of small-scale renewables. In this way, RECC aims to promote the resilience and reputation of the sector and enforce the code in a robust and even-handed way.

ISO (International Organisation for Standardization)

ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 168 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.

Solar Energy UK

Solar Energy UK are a non-profit trade association working for and representing the
entire solar and energy storage value chain. They are funded largely by a thriving member-led community of over 300+ businesses and associates. Their members range from ambitious and innovative SMEs to global brands.

Trustmark

Trustmark are a not-for-profit social enterprise, taking pride in continually investing in the scheme, supporting Scheme Providers and Registered Businesses to improve consumer protection and standards across all sectors.

GSHPA (Ground Source Heat Pump Association)

GSHPA are a trade association bringing together over 160 members and interested parties from across the heat pump installation industry. Developing strong, dynamic and sustainable environment for heating and cooling systems that are based on heat capture, heat storage and heat transfer, including heat sharing networks and demand side management.

IET (The Institute of Engineering and Technology)

Gas Safe Register

Gas Safe Register are the only official gas registration body of gas businesses and engineers in the United Kingdom. They operate the official UK list of gas businesses and qualified gas engineers that work for those businesses, as required by law, to ensure only those qualified engineers are licensed to legally work on gas.
