Geo Green Power successfully transformed Croft Farm in Doncaster into a sustainable agricultural operation by installing a massive 2.5MWp ground-mount solar PV system on land previously used for coal spoil and landfill.
Seeking Solar for the Farm
With utility costs steadily rising, Farmer Peter Maxwell began exploring the benefits of renewable energy solutions for Croft Farm, his agricultural property located in Doncaster. Recognising the long-term savings and environmental advantages, he saw it as a practical and forward-thinking investment for the farm’s future. The location had previously been the site of a coal spoil heap and a landfill, but upon discovering his farm had a reliable grid connection, Maxwell decided to capitalise on the opportunity and thought it would be a sensible idea to have solar panels installed.

Finding Geo Green Power
After reading an article by Geo Green Power in a farmers’ magazine, Maxwell contacted our Managing Director, James Cunningham, for more information. Following an initial conversation, James visited the farm to assess its suitability for renewable energy installation, and a survey was conducted shortly after. Maxwell then received a detailed quotation and chose to proceed with the project.
