A Greener Future for Concrete Solutions

Evans Concrete offers tailored Architectural Precast Concrete solutions to various construction markets, undertaking projects throughout the UK. Sustainability is a core value at Derbyshire’s Evans Concrete, and the company aspires to improve processes and technology to deliver environmentally friendly solutions.

The concrete supply company decided to install solar panels as part of its commitment to sustainability and to reducing the carbon footprint of its operations. The decision aligns with their broader sustainability strategy, focused on minimising their environmental impact and contributing to a greener future. By decreasing reliance on non-renewable energy sources, they’re also achieving long-term cost savings on their energy bills, in line with the strategic goals outlined in their sustainability plan.

Why Us? And How Were We?

Wojciech explained why Evans Concrete selected Geo Green Power to install their solar panels:

“They were very competitive on price and made an excellent first impression during the initial site inspection, which carried through until the job was completed.”

Following their selection, Evans Concrete was extremely impressed with Geo Green Power’s work ethic and dedication:

“The experience of working with Geo Green Power was highly professional and smooth. The team was knowledgeable, responsive, and ensured that the installation process was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to our operations.”

Results Since the Installation

Following the successful solar panel installation, Evans Concrete expects to achieve an estimated electricity output of 205,000kWh per year. Their approximate CO2 emissions savings have the potential to reach 51 tonnes per annum, which is the equivalent of taking 10 petrol cars permanently off the road.

Since completion, Evans Concrete has seen a significant reduction in energy costs. To date, they have reduced their energy bills and reliance on the grid by approximately 50% month-on-month. The system’s performance has met their expectations, and they’re pleased with the overall results and the positive impact on their environmental targets.
