Becoming even more sustainable

The Cotswold Company, an oak furniture and homeware business, keeps sustainability values at its core. All their timber is responsibly sourced, and every piece of furniture is crafted using traditional woodworking methods.

Having planted over 85,000 trees and removed 97% of polystyrene from its product packaging, the company is continuing to work towards its 2025 goals. These include reducing scope 3 emissions, becoming BCorp certified, and delivering sustainability training to all staff.

Head of Sustainability, Jacquie Silvester, stated that:

“Our desire for solar was fuelled by the move to our new site at Lichfield, which was the first time we’d had a new warehouse building. Solar was the obvious next step for our business, aligning with our goal to reach Net-Zero on our Scope 2 emissions by 2025. The warehouse produces a large amount of our Scope 2 emissions, so it made sense to look at this for the first site to install solar.”

What Made Geo Green Power Stand Out?

Silvester explained that knowing Geo Green Power was a family-owned business hugely influenced The Cotswold Company’s decision when selecting them as their installers. She also felt that upon interacting with multiple members of our team, it became apparent that The Cotswold Company shared very similar sustainability values and goals with Geo Green Power.

Our dedicated site team carefully and efficiently completed the solar panel installation, and we were delighted to assist The Cotswold Company with their journey towards net-zero.

Results

The business’s 155kWp solar PV system is estimated to generate 130,840kWh of electricity and save 32 tonnes of CO2 every year, the equivalent of taking 6 petrol cars off the road.

Partnering with Geo Green Power has strengthened The Cotswold Company’s commitment to reach net-zero.

“It was great to find out that Geo Green Power are a family-based company. Since our first meeting with James on-site and during our subsequent dealings with the team, we felt that Geo Green Power’s values aligned with our own in terms of customer service, quality, and sustainability goals.”
