Like many homeowners across Nottinghamshire, Matt Powick wanted greater control over rising energy costs and viewed renewable energy as a long-term investment rather than simply a way to reduce electricity bills.
Investing with Confidence
After researching the market, he realised choosing the right installer was just as important as choosing the equipment. A premium solar and battery system is a significant investment, so clear advice, transparent pricing and confidence in the installation team were essential. From his first meeting with Geo Green Power, he received straightforward guidance, a fully explained proposal and confidence that the system would be tailored to his Owthorpe property.
A Premium Renewable Energy System
Following a detailed site survey, Geo Green Power designed a bespoke solar and battery storage system to maximise annual generation and self-consumption. Every component was carefully selected to work together as one integrated energy system, with panel layout, inverter selection and battery sizing optimised for long-term performance.
The installation was completed by experienced in-house teams, with every stage coordinated to minimise disruption while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• 8.16kWp SunPower Performance 7 Solar PV System
Sixteen premium 510W modules generating approximately 8,698kWh annually, backed by a 30-year product warranty.
• 14.4kWh Battery Storage System
Stores surplus daytime generation for use during evenings and periods of higher demand.
• 7kW Single Phase Hybrid Inverter
Intelligently manages solar production, battery charging and household energy use.
Maximising Every Unit of Solar Energy
During daylight hours, the solar array powers the home while excess electricity is stored in the battery instead of being exported to the grid. The hybrid inverter automatically prioritises self-generated electricity before drawing from the grid, helping maximise self-consumption, reduce imported electricity and increase energy independence.

Excellent Returns and Complete Peace of Mind
Matt’s installation is projected to deliver almost £80,000 in combined energy savings and financial benefit over 30 years, with an estimated annual return on investment of around 13% and a payback period of seven to eight years.
The system is also expected to prevent around 1.68 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year while maintaining household comfort.
From the initial consultation through to final commissioning, the project was delivered with clear communication, professional workmanship and a genuine commitment to customer care. Projects like Matt’s continue to help homeowners across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire invest confidently in renewable energy.

“From the first time Emily came out to see our property we were put at ease and felt confident enough to go with Geo Green Power. The whole process was very simple from start to finish and the result has been great. All the trades that came to our property were very friendly and professional, more so than any other company we’ve used for any other jobs previously. We would highly recommend Geo Green Power.”
