Flat Roof Solar Panels
Looking for the best Flat Roof Solar Panels? As experts in the design, installation & maintenance of solar panels Geo Green Power regularly work with flat roofs and have a range of solutions.
Can solar panels be fitted to flat roofs?
Flat roofs are perfect for solar panels and can generate more effectively than pitched roofs.
The orientation and pitch of solar panels has an impact on the efficiency of your solar PV installation. Flat roof mounting systems raise and angle solar panels to optimise their performance and enable you to position your panels for maximum generation.
Solar PV console tubs for flat roofs
For smaller flat roof systems, we often recommend console tubs.
Console tubs are designed to hold a single panel and contain ballast blocks to keep them in place. They are easy to install and can be positioned independently, and at different orientations, to maximise roof space and generation.
Solar PV flat roof frame
For large flat roofs we often recommend a frame system such as Vandervalk or Renusol FS10.
A flat roof frame system can be positioned to ensure that your panels are in the best position for energy generation and efficiency. The frame will either be bolted to your roof with secure fixings or weighted with ballast.

Questions we often get asked
Will I have to get planning permission?
Not in the vast majority of cases. If your property is part of a world heritage site, or is listed, then planning permission would likely have to be sought in advance. We would advise when this was the case, and while you would have to seek such permission we will of course provide full assistance in completing applications and supplying any information requested to ensure the process is as quick and easy as possible.
Will I have to get a structural survey?
For large flat roofs we often recommend that a structural survey is carried out, especially if your system will require ballast.
We’ll be able to determine whether a structural survey is likely to be required after an initial conversation. We are happy for a structural survey to form part of our proposal and for us to arrange this for you.
