Improving their sustainability
Founded in 1918, electronic components company Panasonic are already dedicated to improving their sustainability, and abide by the packaging and packaging waste legislation- by making available information and classification of the packaging materials used for its shipping products.
Panasonic take their social responsibility seriously and ensure a high-quality recycling process for our products when they become waste. For devices that have been used commercially or in public institutions – so-called B2B devices – they have provided convenient return and disposal solutions for their customers. They were keen to advance their green credentials by installing a solar panel system on one of their offices.
Following Panasonic contacting us, our dedicated team at Geo Green Power installed a 30kW solar PV system for Panasonic Electric Works UK Ltd – a modest sized system which is generating a surprising amount of electricity!
Geo Green Power’s installation on Panasonic Electric Works UK Ltd offices in Milton Keynes forms part of the leading supplier of consumer and business electronics ambition to be carbon neutral in terms of their energy by 2030 and energy positive by 2050. Robert Dixon, Technical Sales Manager, said: “As a global organisation Panasonic has 100s of offices and locations worldwide. This is just a small office, and a small step, but all those steps soon add up to a large impact.
On Geo Green Power’s installation process, Robert added: “I was really pleased with the installation process, Geo Green Power’s team were able to do all the physical install and they seemed to snap the panels together like perfect Lego sets. It was seamless, I was really impressed with the guys and really pleased with the job.”
Their results
Panasonic Electric Works UK Ltd is regularly monitoring their system and has seen a significant impact on their imported electricity usage. Robert added: “It’s really quite interesting to see what you can produce from what is a relatively modest system. We estimated that we were using about 80kWh of energy from the grid every day. On a sunny day we’re now generating up to 200kWh so we’re easily saving around 70% of our energy costs.”
Panasonic is committed to environmental solutions through its products and services and the team at Milton Keynes are delighted to be contributing towards Panasonic’s worldwide ambition to reduce their carbon footprint and transition to clean energy.

“Hello, my name is Rob Dixon I’m the Technical Sales manager here at Panasonic Electric Works UK limited.
“Well Panasonic is obviously a major large global organisation; we have in hundreds of facilities worldwide we have a scheme to bring net neutrality of energy by 2030 and energy positive by 2050. So, while we’re a small office it’s a small step but all those steps worldwide will soon add up to a large impact.
“I was really pleased with the installation process the guys were absolutely spot on, they worked seamlessly no problems even allowing for the fact that the supplier of the panels delivered the panels a day late. They were able to do all the physical hardware install and just snap them all together like perfect Lego sets and it was seamless, really impressed with the guys really pleased with the job.
“The new installation is going really well, I’m still obviously in the early days where I end up checking the stats on a daily basis, just to see if today was a good day or yesterday was a bad day and things like that and it’s really quite interesting to see what you are actually able to produce from what is a relatively modest setup on our roof.”
