Croft Farm is running on sunshine!

With utility costs steadily rising, Farmer Peter Maxwell began exploring the benefits of renewable energy solutions for Croft Farm, his agricultural property located in Doncaster. Recognising the long-term savings and environmental advantages, he saw it as a practical and forward-thinking investment for the farm’s future. The location had previously been the site of a coal spoil heap and a landfill, but upon discovering his farm had a reliable grid connection, Maxwell decided to capitalise on the opportunity and thought it would be a sensible idea to have solar panels installed.

After reading an article by Geo Green Power in a farmers’ magazine, Maxwell contacted our Managing Director, James Cunningham, for more information. Following an initial conversation, James visited the farm to assess its suitability for renewable energy installation and a survey was conducted shortly after. Maxwell then received a detailed quotation and chose to proceed with the project.

Our experienced site team carried out the installation on the large-scale system with care, ensuring everything was completed to the highest standard. Regarding Geo Green Power’s work ethic, Maxwell stated that: “The team at Geo Green Power were really helpful. We got on well with all of them and they were very efficient.”

The huge 2.5MWpk solar PV system is estimated to generate 2,000,000kWh of electricity and save 500 tonnes of carbon emissions every year, the equivalent to taking 100 petrol cars off the road permanently.
