Why Ideagen chose solar
Based in South Nottingham, Ideagen delivers innovative software solutions in industries such as aviation, manufacturing, and financial services. Sustainability is extremely important to Ideagen and committing to solar panel usage at their Ruddington headquarters was a huge step for them on their journey towards net zero.
Sustainability Officer, Jasmine Bhardwaj, stated that: โWe chose solar panels because weโve committed to our science-based targets which are our carbon production targets, and using solar panels will really help us reduce our scope 2 purchased electricity emissions, as well as our general emissions.โ
They have submitted carbon reduction targets to the Science-Based Targets initiative, which has been approved, and their solar PV system will have a profound impact on their scope 2 carbon emissions. This project is also a great kickstart for Ideagenโs other offices to start thinking about renewable energy providers, something they are already working onโฆ

Working with us
After thinking about installing solar panels on their roof for some time, Ideagen were eager to work alongside a local company to make it a reality. Once we were contacted, our proximity to their headquarters made it easy for our trusted team to visit the site and progress every stage of the project from pre-installation surveys to final installation and commissioning. Hayes explained that: “We like to work with companies in our community and our experience with Geo Green Power was great from start to finish. Even before any panels went on the roof there was a lot of background work that the team handled brilliantly.”
Our dedicated teamโs attention to detail and knowledge supported the successful implementation of this project at every stage. Safety, Wellbeing & Facilities Manager, Tracy Purser, stated that: โEvery touchpoint we had with Geo Green Power was professional and friendly, with no detail too small to address. All the work carried out was completed efficiently, ensuring the project ran smoothly from start to finish.โ
The results so far
The installation is designed to generate 117,000kWh of electricity every year and reduce their carbon footprint by 30 tonnes of CO2 annually. This is equivalent to taking 6 petrol cars permanently off the road.
With the support of their solar panel dashboard, Ideagen receive live updates on their systemโs progress, including generation and on-site consumption from the grid. This is a great tool that monitors the panels’ performance and supports Ideagen in promoting a greener message to all their employees.
